Glamorgan Blended Learning Ltd is a co-operative. Because of this we believe strongly in self-help. Profit is secondary to us, as we care more about making West Wales and the Valleys a better place than selling people products and services they can get for free if they know where to look.
To help us achieve this goal we support the following initiatives to help get people online and stay safe online, at little or no cost.
The Selivcel Project
The Selivcel Project aims to to be the leading forum for online businesses to grow and for consumers to have high satisfaction through improving the knowledge of both in the effects of the law, business practices, and social science on the Internet so as to enable electronic commerce transactions to be as trouble-free and as fair as possible. Selivcel provides free and independent advice on how to get your e-commerce business up and running and if you are a consumer it can also help you resolve any e-commerce disputes. The Selivcel Project promises to give GBL 9% of its profits to run the community initiatives in West Wales and the Valleys that we organise.
The VECC Project
VECC Online Community Contractors have been in existence for over 10 years, originally formed as the Virtual Environments for Community and Commerce Project, now provides specialist independent advice to businesses of all sizes on what the best solution for them in terms of online community solutions, from getting started on Facebook, to running their own private social network. On top of their FREE advice service, VECC promise to give 9% of their profits to GBL, to run the projects we organise in West Wales and the Valleys.
The Crocels Trolling Academy
The Crocels Trolling Academy is a not-for-profit initiative of the Centre for Research into Online Communities and E-Learning Systems as part of its social responsibility programme to promote safety on the Internet and encourage sociability, using its peer-reviewed research as a basis and the support of other experts. The Trolling Academy is the premier source of free information on trolling on the Worldwide Web, with an increasing number of articles written by trolling experts through Op-Ed opinion pieces and their expanding Trolling Guide of trolling information on the Internet.
